Tornados and Weather Station Alerts

May 22nd, 2008

I was so saddened to pull open Yahoo News today and see that tornados had ripped through southeastern Wyoming. I immediately thought about the John Deere Public Alert Weather Station by Oregon Scientific.

It’s a great home weather station that tells you all about the current weather situation. It has information on temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and other information that you need to know. It’s everything you need in the way of a home weather station, with one major bonus.

It has a built in weather alert radio so that in case of a weather emergency, you are informed and prepared so that you can avoid what happened in southeastern Wyoming. The best way to keep safe in weather emergencies is to be prepared and the best way to be prepared is with a home weather station alert system like the John Deere Public Alert Weather Station from Oregon Scientific.

Fight Danger With A Home Weather Station

May 14th, 2008

In San Diego, the weather is turning very hot over the next 5 days, that means the humidity will be low. The risk of wildfires will increase over the next few, especially if it is accompanied by drying winds that could fan any flames across a wide swath of area. I hope that people got the brush cleared from around their houses and have taken other precautions to protect and insure their homes from wildfires.

This is a great time to look into getting a home weather station from a quality manufacturer like Oregon Scientific. You’ll have a better idea of the weather conditions at your own home. The WMR100 Professional Wireless Weather Station is a good example of the kind of home weather station that would serve you well.

You’ll be able to know what the wind speed and direction is as well as the temperature and level of humidity, not at the airport or the local weather reporting station, but right at your own home. It’s the kind of information that can help you protect your family and your home from fire danger that results from weather conditions.

Home Weather Station Example

September 25th, 2007

I like seeing how people use home weather stations and how they can make the data that a home weather station provides available to as many as possible. Bellbirdweb has a page devoted to the output from their home weather station.

The page is here. It gives awesome up to date weather information from the house in New South Wales, Australia.

It’s just another awesome use for home weather stations.

Hot weather for Texas

August 5th, 2007

It looks like more hot weather is in store for Texas. Of course this is August and it’s to be expected. Still though, temperatures are looking to peak out in the upper 90’s with plenty of humidity to go around. It sure looks like a great time to find a nice resort, relax by the side of the pool with a cold drink and just chill. Or maybe, it’s time to hit the beach with some friends and have a beach party that goes into the early hours.

Lots of rain in Zamboanga

August 3rd, 2007

It’s been a rainy week in Zamboanga City, The Philippines. While most of the Philippines is suffering from a drought, Zamboanga City has been piling up the rain fall and experiencing minor flooding. What a weird year for the weather, but isn’t that always the case?
